Collector's items: Two antique original bentwood chairs of the company Thonet - Vienna, model no. 14 - design Michael Thonet. These chairs were the company's bestseller for decades and were often copied. This set comes from Vienna from the period after 1881. The chairs are made of beech wood, screwed and provided with a bentwood ring for stabilization, the seat is made of hand-woven Viennese braid
The chairs were refurbished: The seats were professionally renewed by a Schwerin chair weaving mill. The fittings were checked, tightened and partly renewed. As can be seen in picture no. 7, there is a slight fragmentation of the curved backrest insert on a backrest. However, this is often found in these chairs, but does not affect the stability. The chairs are of high quality and in a good, stable condition with usual signs of use on the surfaces.
On the chairs there are two manufacturer's certificates: paper label and embossing stamp. Due to the paper label, the chairs can be assigned to Vienna in the period after 1881.
