Piano Stool, Original Thonet Brothers, Bentwood
Swivel stool from the traditional company Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna from the beginning of the 20th century. The piano stool is made of black lacquered wood and has a frame with a bentwood ring. The curved feet are held together by the wooden ring made of curved wood. The stool is heavy and very stable. Height adjustable from 47 cm to approx. 62 cm with a long spindle. The seat is made of so-called Viennese mesh, the other parts are made of solid beech wood. In this early model, the seat ring is still supported by cross-shaped wood, in later models these were replaced by metal. The spindle runs well and has little play.
Condition: The surfaces are renewed. All screws are tightened. The hand-woven braid was expertly renewed in a Schwerin weaving workshop! The stool has the original Thonet embossing stamp and the paper label under the seat.
