Antique bentwood chair with armrests, around 1900. Unmarked, corresponds to Thonet model no. 114 - see catalog photo from 1904.
The chair is made of beech wood, screwed together and provided with a bentwood ring for stabilization. The backrest is also connected to the side of the seat with two curved round timbers for stabilization and as support wood for the armrests. The seat is made of curved plywood with an embossed pattern. The chair is of high quality and in good, stable condition with the usual signs of wear on the surfaces. The surfaces are stained and varnished with shellac - the varnish has been refreshed.
