Original Thonet bentwood stool, 1st half of the 20th century - restored

A large bentwood stool by Thonet, probably from the first half of the 20th century, in beautiful, restored condition. The stool is made of bent beechwood and features a second bentwood ring beneath the seat for stability. This construction principle was developed by Michael Thonet and used in many of his chairs and stools. The seat is made of slightly bent plywood. The stool's surfaces are coated with shellac. The stool features the Thonet embossed stamp and paper label on the seat frame.
The stool is in good overall condition: All screws are tight, there's no wobble, and the surfaces have been sanded, stained (dark walnut), and hand-finished with shellac using the traditional Schelleck ball polish. The seat still has slight bumps and scratches under the varnish – see video.
