Restored piano stool by the traditional Viennese company Gebrüder Thonet, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The stool is made of solid wood and features a frame with a bentwood ring. The curved legs are held together by this bentwood ring. The stool is heavy and very stable. It is height-adjustable from 49 cm to approximately 63 cm using a long spindle. The seat is made of Viennese cane webbing, while the other parts are crafted from solid beechwood. In this early model, the seat ring is supported by a cross-shaped piece of wood; in later models, this was replaced with metal. The spindle operates smoothly with minimal play.

Restored condition: All screws are tightened. The hand-woven cane was professionally renewed in a Schwerin cane-weaving workshop. The surfaces are coated with glossy black shellac. The stool has the original Thonet embossed stamp and remnants of the paper label under the seat. Based on these remnants, the production period can be narrowed down to between 1881 and 1922. A beautiful collector's item.
