JBS piano lamp, burnished and brushed brass, 1960s

A very solid and rare piano lamp made of polished brass by JBS (Joseph Brumberg Sundern), West Germany, circa 1960s-1970s. The lamp is distinguished by its organic form. It is made of brass with a heavy metal base. The shade can be tilted using a joint. Another joint is located at the base (adjustable). The lamp is switched on and off via a cord switch.
The lamp is in original condition with only minor signs of aging - see pictures, surfaces polished.
About the manufacturer: Brumberg Leuchten GmbH & Co. KG, based in the Sauerland region of Germany, is a fifth-generation family-run company specializing in the production of lighting fixtures. In 1873, merchant Hermann Josef Brumberg founded the metal goods factory of the same name, one of the first companies in this industry. Two years later, the company switched its production to complete kerosene lamps. War, major fires, and floods repeatedly destroyed all production facilities. Despite being dissolved in 1985, the company was revived in 2010 through a cooperation with Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., and two years later, with Albrecht Jung at the helm. brumberg.com
